Out of the fry pan and into the fire. I flew back to California from Japan on Wednesday for work. As Thursday came the California Governor locked down the state which canceled the project I was about to start. I'm in disbelief as to the drastic measures Americans are taking compared to how the Japanese are handling it. I am not downplaying the seriousness of the illness, but contrasting to what a little bit of caution can do, wear a mask, wash your hands, eat better, take care of your health and practice less acts of intimate contact like handshakes and hugs.
If you haven't heard there are two promising treatments, one is by Fujifilm Chemical called "Favipiravir" https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/18/japanese-flu-drug-clearly-effective-in-treating-coronavirus-says-china
The other is the anti-maliria drug Hydroxychloroquine. Both have shown to help patients recover. There is hope.
As the days roll on I think the economic fallout is going to be worse than the disease itself. Chinese Government Officials have been accusing the US of unleashing the virus. Talk like that will lead to war.
I'm over panicking now and just want everything to come to head so we can get back to our lives, our businesses and making the world a better place for our children. Bring the pain.
