Morgan Freeman accused of sexual harassment by eight women, actor issues apology in a statement

Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman has been accused of harassment and inappropriate behavior by eight women, states a report by CNN. This came to limelight when 16 people spoke to CNN about Freeman, and eight of them claimed to be victims of either sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior.
As told by a production assistant who worked on the 2015 comedy Going In Style starring Freeman, the actor subjected her to 'unwanted touching' and 'commented about her figure' on a regular basis. Narrating one particular instance, she even said that Freeman kept trying to lift up her skirt and asking if she was wearing underwear. At one point, Alan made a comment telling him to stop. Morgan got freaked out and didn t know what to say, she recalled while speaking to CNN.
A similar accusation was made by another female from the senior production staff of the 2012 film Now You See Me. She said that Freeman sexually harassed her and other female assistants by commenting on their bodies. He did comment on our bodies. We knew that if he was coming by... not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted, she was quoted saying.
The women who have made these accusations on Freeman even said that they changed the way they dressed when they knew Freeman would be around to avoid his behavior. In his defence, Freeman issued an apology through a statement that read, "Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected that was never my intent.
Freeman co-founded Revelations Entertainment with Lori McCreary in 1996, that produced films like Invictus, Along Came a Spider, and CBS show Madam Secretary. Former staffers have also opened up about the toxic work environment and witnessing Freeman s behaviour, including sexual comments and unsolicited touching.
