Where will the batteries come from for the Californian's electric cars?

Unless you prefect the Fred Flintstone motor, no amount of wishing can help the automobile problem in California!

This video just presents the battery problems they face:

When I posted earlier on the arrogance of the new 'law' on electric vehicles in CA., I mentioned the break even point related to the battery production loading. This video points out that this is the planet Earth, and eventually even the politicians I'm California will be throttled with these truths! The exporting of pollution is a time honored liberal 'solution', to a Real problem...just kick the can down the road; then claim victory.

IF they actually understand, and just lie with a straight face; then they intend to put most people on foot, or in the cemetery!

What they have legislated is not a real option. Vanadium redox batteries could be a viable option, but the infrastructure is also difficult! At least these could be powered by solar and wind, at an extreme cost.

We have kind of flatlined on new battery development, because we need a higher power to weight ratio. It would also be good to have a safer cell, and one with long life! The Vanadium redox (flow battery) is a lower power density, but is safer, and long lived. Since the Vanadium battery can be recharged by pumping in charged fluids, it could act like a normal car. When you are running low, you pull into a filling station; and pump in fresh charged fluids (anodite and cathodite). Your depleted fluids can then be recharged and stored for the next car; since the fluids don't degrade over time.

But I very seriously doubt that we have the raw materials to do this on such a massive scale! California has jumped off of the environmental cliff, before checking the landing for broken glass...Again!!!!!

I havent been paying much attention of late, but I do know there is a serious bottleneck happening. So many people have bought electric cars in Vancouver that there are 2 hour waits at recharging stations. Additionally, there was a study done in Ontario about 10 years ago to determine is there was enough electricity being generated for there to be an ev in every driveway. No surprise, but there wasn't. This is a pro EV guy that did the study btw. He is a chemical engineer professor that designs EV batteries. So the results were not politically motivated.

What we need to do is improve our infrastructure so that we generate more electricity. Even without the addition of widespread use of EVs, the global population requires more electricity than is being generated.

I'd like to see movement to hydrogen fuel for internal combustion engines. The exhaust is water vapor, and regular gasoline engines will run on hydrogen.

Smarter than EV cars, and I like EV cars enough to be working on building one! Look at a Doran 3 wheel car....

We just don't have enough power, and even less clean power; which makes EV cars heavy polluters!

I have another chemical engineer friend who has spent most of his career working on hydrogen fuel cells, and mostly funded by GM. They do not seem to be getting off the ground yet.

For some reason, many EV advocates seem to be against hydrogen fuel cells. I don't understand why, and I believe that a diversity of renewable energy sources is the best way forward.

They only want their solution, not your's. Hydrogen can run fuel cells, but it can also be burned in a standard automobile directly for fuel

But they want batteries...even though it can't work on the planet Earth! Since they don't Live on the planet Earth....

Prince--now King--Charles has a vehicle that runs on wine. Perhaps we need more of those?

To clarify, the wine is for the car, or the driver?

👍😆😁🤠

HAHA! For the car.

Okay, but that driver looked a little shaky, ROFLOL! He has a tough act to follow....
