Confessed Terrorist Linked to the Death of 97 Soldiers Gets $10mil Payout from Canadian Gov.

During the war in Afghanistan, the year was 2002, Khadr was 15 years old, the son a Taliban militant leader he was raised in the Taliban ways. Khadr was especially good at making bombs. The small ones on the side of the road that are called IED’s (improvised explosive device). Near the height of the war these bombs were one of the leading causes for allied soldier’s casualties.

He was a specialist at making these.

I know the argument. He was just a kid!!. Really was he just a kid? His entire life he was raised to be a killer. Even if he lived a civilian life he was being raised under rules that allowed breaking peoples legs if they smoked. Playing music was a punishable offence. Women are not allowed to read or write or leave their home without a male family member, beating's are normal.

So let’s say Omar never got into the war, he lived in a village living a traditional life farming opium; or food, that was rude to say. Is that what $10,000,000CAD is making up for the loss of.?

No, of course not.

It’s because he was tortured and wrongly imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay for so many years. Again I would like to remind you, he is linked to the deaths of 97 soldiers. He is also partially blinded a US soldier in an explosion that killed a Canadian soldier as well.

Sleep Deprivation was common from the reports I read.

I get it. It’s not like he could run away from home like we could in North America. He had nowhere to go especially in a war torn country at that age. He was stuck there. But like most teenage boys they want to make their father proud. They want to get their approval and try and learn what they can but not because they have to but because they want to.

The good news out of his payment.

”The lawyer for the widow of an American soldier killed in Afghanistan said Tuesday they have filed an application so that any money paid by the Canadian government to a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner convicted of killing him will go toward the widow and another U.S. soldier injured.”

At least some of the money will go where it belongs.
