The creators of Pokémon Go will take measures to fix the server´s problems

Looks like Niantic, the responsible of Pokémon Go, is finally going to get its act together regarding the game server’s maintenance. At least that what can be deducted from the job offers that the company has published recently in its webpage.

Between these offers, the one that appears first in a prominent position is “Software Engineer – Server infrastructure” which leave clear that Niantic has as a priority the improvement of Pokémon Go server’s stability, with the goal to avoid repeating the downtime experienced some weeks ago.

Specifically, this job offer will have as main responsibility the creation and maintenance of an infrastructure capable of supporting Pokémon Go, with all that it carries, in a massive project with millions of users all around the world. It also mentions experience in Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services as a desirable asset in the candidate’s resume, which gives clues about how the Pokémon Go universe is mounted.

It is without a doubt Niantic’s top priority at the moment, because in the words of John Hanke, CEO of the company, in the most recent edition of San Diego’s Comic Con, the company is not thinking about adding new functions or features to the game while the server’s stability problems are not fixed first.

Other Job Offers, New features in Pokémon Go.

The Software Engineer one is not the only offer you can find in Niantic’s Webpage. Other profiles that they’re also looking for are Software Engineer with a focus in Java development for Android (Explicitly mentioning the creation of MMO projects for Mobile), or videogame developer in Unity, to mention two of them.

But other offers in this website call even more attention. The first is AI Engineer, which responsibility would be to “take millions of user’s actions to model, analyze and predict the player’s behavior, with the goal to create an incredible game experience” – which would give place to more interesting interactions between the game and “real life”.

The second offer that is highlighted is global community manager, while the entry doesn’t sound too original, it comes to attention for some of its responsibilities, like managing online and offline player recruitment programs, arrange relations with players (with a specific mention of “influential players”) or celebrate events in the “real world”.

In other words, if you could be a little tired of Pokémon Go, maybe in the next months you’ll be even more tired, because it seems Niantic is thinking about taking its game’s promotion to the real life via agreements with influential players or even official events.
