The most-used web search engine in the world, Google, has created a doodle marking the birthday of Bangladeshi writer Humayun Ahmed.
Ahmed would have turned 69 years old today.
The doodle shows Humayun lounging with a book and tea and meeting Himu, one of the most famous fictional characters from his novels.
Humayun Ahmed’s son, Nuhash Humayun, also shared an image of the doodle on his Facebook profile, saying, “This is amazing, I think I'm gonna cry.”
One of the most iconic Bangladeshi writers, Humayun authored over 200 books, many of which were made into films.
He was also a dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, song writer, scholar and lecturer and was often credited with revitalising Bengali literature.
Ahmed died on July 19, 2012 in a hospital in New York.
