South African Protests Turned Violent

As of late South Africa has been plagued with violent protests. It started last year with the #feesmustfall movement. Click here for more information about the movement
Once the government promised to deliver free education, the #Afrikaansmustfall movement started. This movement led to school property being destroyed and became violent and racist. It ended when students of all color stood together against the movement. For the articles click Here

During April there where violent protests to remove an elected official from his seat in Pretoria. This protest left the city unsafe and looking like a zombie apocalypses broke out. (not even joking). For the article click here

The government gave the people what they wanted again but failed to deliver on the promise they made to students for free education. This led to another protest, this time more violent than before. Universities had to close down for the safety of the staff leaving students who want to study in distress. For the article click here

Students who wanted to study started a movement and held a silent protest. They endured verbal and physical attacks from other students but they sat down and took it until their silent cries were heard. One student remarked that "Through our silence we were heard"

@thegoldencookie Yip, what else can you expect? Now it is the EFF causing the riots....bunch of hooligans have no idea what life is all about. My child is going to university next year. I am so stressed you can't even imagine!

Good luck. I really hope it comes to an end soon for your child's sake. Maybe she should study through UNISA for the first year that way she's safe and at home. Not ideal of course but probably the safest option.
