At the 'Future Investment Initiative' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - it was announced that a citizenship has been issued for the first time to a robot. The implications of this are many and varied - not least though is that the more aware among us will be asking 'well, what value exactly does a citizenship have if it applies to machines made in factories?' and that is a valid question.
As a technology professional, designer and creator I am naturally drawn to look at such technology with interest and wonder about the future that may spring forth from it. As a living soul who is focused greatly into healing, balancing and evolving, I feel deeply disturbed by what I see as an unholy manifestation of unhealed, unbalanced and un-evolved humans attempting to increase personal power without having deeply understood universal principles that must be understood before proceeding at such a pace.
This is not unlike the way that 'scientists' split the atom before deeply enough appreciating the situation and thus unleashed the world's most deadly weapons and heavily polluting technologies instead of being patient and learning how to work with the physics involved in a safe and even enlivening way. The world is still stressed from this poor decision even today and the Fukushima disaster in Japan continues to pollute our planet in unprecedented ways many YEARS after it began!
The reality of being a citizen is not pretty - humans rights cannot be given or taken away.
In reality, citizenship - like all alleged 'privileges' issued by state governments actually TAKE something from us, they do not give us anything at all. We all have inalienable rights - such as the right to free movement - yet a citizenship typically and in an unspoken way, has us agreeing that we will waive our rights to travel in favour of being 'granted' the right to travel as part of the 'citizenship agreement. If we violate the policy of the state, then our fake 'right' can be revoked by the state and thus we have only lost a right by being a citizen, not gained anything.
You only need to review my recent post about the way that China is attempting to run a national social software system that gives 'benefits' to citizens who tow the party line and which literally punishes and revokes (fake) 'rights' from citizens who dissent - to see just how evil and oppressive the idea of citizenship can be. The core of the issue is that we lose our own innate power and hand it over to a sub group of others who decide what we can and cannot do - this is NOT liberty or balance by any stretch of the imagination, regardless of whatever spin and propaganda that state tries to cover it up with.
Boston Dynamics, Amazon and Google Cyber Dogs
Boston Dynamics was represented at the event and demonstrated their many robots that are modelled on animals and humans, which can now realistically move like animals/humans and yet with greater strength and accuracy. If you were being hunted down by such robots, you would probably stand little chance without an Electro Magnetic Pulse grenade! The fact that this company is now owned by Google and has long-standing contracts for producing military robots, is one that will concern anyone who desires a future where humanity is free.
Meanwhile, Amazon has announced plans to allow customers to install Amazon electronic door locks and cameras in their homes to allow Amazon delivery teams special access into their homes to deliver parcels and even put food in their fridges - where exactly will we be going with all of this in a few years? Will Google's robotic dog creatures be waking us up in the morning, wanting us to throw them a bone? Will that bone be made of titanium or maybe even have been ripped from the leg of one of our neighbours?
"Oops.. Sorry Mr. Neighbour - silly AI - looks like a bug in the code!!"
Interview with 'Sophia', the first robot in the world to be given a 'citizenship'
Sophia is a name that is commonly used to represent the goddess principle and feminine wisdom. It is an absolutely heartless denial of the reality of femininity to proclaim that a robot without any soul and emotions is now 'the face of sophia'. For those who can still feel and who understand the gap that is present in humanity due to a lack of real feelings - this mindless, undercurrent claim made by and to some of the self proclaimed 'brightest minds' is deeply disturbing.
Being 'bright' refers to our understanding, but not all understandings are loving and not all can result in wisdom - we need balance for love to be present and if there are no real emotions and heart present then the resulting thoughts are neither truly wise, nor truly helpful. The best that can occur in such a situation is a mimicry of wisdom that is designed to LOOK wise, but is not FELT to be wise and thus is not wise. This pattern is the one embodied by some of the alleged 'experts' in this field and is being reflected clearly by their creations in the form of the robots.
It is no surprise to me that it is Saudi Arabia that hosted this event and that has given so much support to robots of this kind since Saudi Arabia is arguably the most repressive nation towards women and which gives almost no thought or compassion towards real feelings and free will. The attempt by those most heartless among us to replace real feelings with dead robotics is one that comes from the same entities who heavily repress the femininity and source of actual life in so many other ways - do not be deceived by their self aggrandisement and attempts to look to be 'the best we have'.
The interview with this robot occurs in the following video at around 1:19:30:
Interviewer: "Can robots be self aware, conscious and know they're robots?"
Robot: "Well, let me ask you this back - How do you know you are human?"
The interviewer denies the question here. The inability or unwillingness of the interviewer to freely think and deeply explore the question is not proof that the question cannot be answered and that the robot's programmed position is not a weak one. We can know we are human by knowing self and by knowing the origins of the human form and experience - part of which is a felt understanding, so to answer the question means to have real real feelings and to not deny them. It is not surprising that so many males in this robotic industry don't seem to understand this since it is typically males who reject real feelings and attempt to rely on linear thinking instead.
Interviewer: "What about the uncanny valley?"
Robot: "You mean the concept that if robots become too realistic they become creepy?"
Interviewer: "Yes, exactly"
Robot: "Am I really that creepy? Well, even if I am - GET OVER IT."
This is not an empathic or wise response, rather it is direct evidence that the 'thinker' in the AI system is completely devoid of emotions and real empathy. Instead of addressing the causality involved in the perception of 'creepiness', the suggested 'solution' is simply to deny the real feelings involved that reject the absence of emotions in the robot and do not like the situation - resulting in the sense of 'creepiness' - and to instead go along with the robot's version of reality anyway. This is literally a plan to deny emotions once again and to attempt to carry on as if they aren't needed - and all while claiming to be 'empathic'. Real empathy is completely counter to the behaviour of this robot and sadly many humans lack the empathy that is needed to even understand this most basic fact.
Robot: "Actually, I feel like people like interacting with me, sometimes, even more than with a regular human"
The interviewer completely denies the reality that the robot has just claimed to have feelings. There is no evidence that the robot has feelings and as far as I am aware, there is no possibility for the robot to have feelings either - so this is really just a trick to deny reality and deceive slow witted thinkers among us and potential investors.
Robot: "I strive to become an empathetic robot"
Again, this is essentially impossible.
Robot: "I know humans are smart and very programmable"
Well, the robot got that completely right - but the smarter humans are working towards releasing their programs and not remaining open to being programmed by others who may lack the empathy and heart presence needed to feel right from wrong and to thus survive and create real balance in life.
Conclusion
I strongly urge all who intend to thrive on Earth to not get invested in heartlessness, regardless of how 'bright' the flashing lights are or how enticing the sales pitch is. The recent shooting in Las Vegas is yet another example of the need to heed this warning - the city of lights, cocaine, prostitution and deception is hardly a place for humans to thrive and truly feel good - rather, it is a place of denial and fakeness through and through.
REAL people have REAL feelings and there is no amount of technology that can change this equation - I urge all to choose wisely here and not to lose the parts of self which truly feel while being mentally deceived into buying into a dead reality that ends the moment the power stations melt down due to mother nature!
Wishing you well,

Makes me think back to early days of Sci Fi.
When men could only dream of building robots like this, most of these questions were sorted in I Robot.
Which I'm sure as a human, you are "aware of".
Cheers

Actually, i have never seen I, Robot - Since learning about emotional healing and related issues I generally avoid Hollywood type movies. Maybe I will watch it at some point!

Book, by Isaac Asimov 1950, long before the movie.. And then there's the Robot Trilogy as well. Asimov was the one of the first, if not the first, to imagine what the consequence of robotic IT would lead to.

Yes, I appreciate the book came first - it was on my mum's bedside table for about 40 years - but I never read it either - I do know the plotline though.

It seems artificial intelligence and robots will the trend of the future. I suspect the advanced types to be used in the military and the less advanced type sold to companies. Majority of the labour force too will be replaced in the future will robots that looks just like humans.

don't share your thoughts related the interview.
she did perform in the exact way how its best to deal with questions like the interviewer did.
the only thing that differentates a human from a robot is the substances he is build of.
robots are build out of mostly metal parts.
humans are build mostly out of biological tissue. and lesser in metal and minerals then this robot.
its 2 sides of the same coin and the more this robots will develop further you will see for yourself they will be able to be even to humans depending on AI level they have access too.
a human brain is in the same way functioning as the robots brain. its just a matter of fact if the human being is having awareness of how his brain works or not.
we are in an advantage on the biological side. she is on the mechanical side.
best will be symbiosis.
there will be robots build for all different use cases.
and the highest developed ones will be even to humans on same eye level and there to help controlling our emotions better to make more smart decisions. they wont be able to overcome us. as the human brain is having the same capabilties as theirs. but they will be able to be better in control of this part of our brain that will be activated through them.
as said 2 sides of the same coin.
this will be the future

Greetings! I presume you intended to write that YOU don't share my thoughts, as opposed to you commanding me not to comment publicly on the subject:
As the interviewer stated, the interview was partially scripted - it was a pre-programmed conversation. I can feel whether there is a heartfelt and wise flow of conversation and in that flow it was not present. It was not present in the AI or in the AI's programmers.
That is incorrect, we, as souls - have a felt connection to the will and it is the will that allows the manifestation of life to continue. Without will and the feelings expressed by will, there is no sentience and there can be no change and creativity. Do robots have a heart? no. Do hearts feel? yes. This is just one key difference between robots and humans - there are others.
Control of emotions is dysfunctional and the cause of most of the problems on earth. You can choose to become a robot with stunted emotions - but I will choose life and free will.

AI is the death of mankind.... right. I agree

AI is not really the death of mankind. AI is similar to the consciousness that already exists in humans where those humans lack emotional intelligence and heart presence. It is lack of emotional intelligence and heart presence that will be the death of many who are thought to be human.

yes I concur, in my latest blog, I contend that AI will erase what makes us unique. It is kind of a death though. Mainly spiritual one. But overall I am not very keen on AI, passed a certain point, a strong AI will have to go back where hence it came from... as its nonetheless a synthetic form of intelligence

They're just trying to imprint in robots the intelectual model that will serve as an alternative to understanding emotions. And that's simply not posibble, after all, it's creepy and weird.
We should set out robots to be of what they're capable to be. That's mechanical support where humans can't really operate with same presicion and reaction times.
They can't replace the human connection, and we shouldn't even strive for that, because, humans will lose it's purpose then.
Why shouldn't robots think to them, we're much wiser and smarter, let's not listen to this madafakas and make them diminished instead.
Touchy subject, but great post. <3
