The Media Has Blood On Their Hands... Now They're Trying To Make Up For It

When Hurricane Harvey hit in Texas, many people were saying there was no warning, but that isn't true. The storm gave off many indications it was going to be bad, but the media was to focused on politics to warn people they should get out. Don't get me wrong, politics need a lot of attention right now, but not this much. Lives are more important.

It is true there was little warning from the mainstream media for the storm that struck Texas, but the truth was out there. One guy, BPEarthWatch on YouTube, told gulf to watch out one week before landfall.

He wasn't the only one. Reports that Houston would get over 50 inches of rain were announced 3-4 days before the rains started, but it still didn't reach the national news.

It wasn't until about a day and a half out from landfall did CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or MSNBC start telling people to watch out. The Weather Channels started reporting on it a little sooner, but not much.

Weather Channel posted this on Thursday, but was silent before the storm.

One of the reasons the local government did not take this storm more serious was because they didn't see hardley anything about the storm leading up to it from mainstream media.

It is sad that they spent so much time talking about politics or in the Weather Channel's case, ignoring it. Then the Weather Channel had the audacity to blame Climate Change and Trump for the devastation in Texas... they didn't accept any of the blame for not giving people a warning before the storm.

That isn't the case with Irma, now they are going all out pushing the storm. My guess is they are doing it because of the ratings, Harvey was huge in ratings... after the fact.

Just like global warming: only few people are really listening, most not until its too late.

I think history will look back on the US media and just shake its head. Nearly everything you can possibly find on CNN does nothing for the viewer except to ratchet up the tension in their minds. The viewers don't understand how insignificant the White House intrigue is, and they don't understand how dangerous the blind spots in their worldviews are.

Who else thinks it could be the govt creating these natural disasters?

I heard the one local politician not sure who but told everyone who chose to stay needs to write their ss# on their arm so he could identify their body after the storm. That town got the hint and voluntarily evacuated.

If the local gooberment officials only look to main stream media then it is on their heads and yup heads should roll, but the blame is also on those who stayed behind...Research research research...Why would someone only listen to a newscaster/weatherman that half the time can't say what will happen in an hour much less a day in advance. That is why we have multiple means of forecasting and should use them all.

I don't know where I saw it, but 3 days before Harvey made landfall, there was a video of a Trump story about him asking/telling the governor to be prepared . I most likely saw it from a youtube linked video on steemit. Probably on one of your links, or a shout out from my wife to check watchman.

I work for a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Houston. We began implementing our disaster plan in the days leading up to Harvey. The expectation was that the storm would center on Corpus Christi and we would only get peripheral effects. The real tragedy here is that funding for NOAA and other critical agencies has been slashed and our weather forecasting and modeling capabilities are no longer world class.

I know when I heard about the storm I tuned in to the news and you are right it was political. I don't have TV so I used live streaming news on the internet.

Maybe the media didnt want to be wrong? Didnt want to create hysteria?
I posted a warning today that hasnt been anounced anywhere that I have seen. In fact, the site that provided me with the information, makes it sound like only one earth directed CME is enroute. Meanwhile there are 9 to 10!
