I'm still trying to understand how the down votes are being used. What is the effect of a down vote and is there anything in place to protect us from malicious and retaliatory use of down votes?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
