Jack brought his binos up and scanned the game fence, but there was nothing moving. Thermal scans showed nothing but cold air, cold fence, and cold trees beyond.

Lowering the optics, he turned his attention back to the crawler track controls. "Can't miss those deliveries. Mine to Depot. Depot to mine. Why the hell did I sign up for this agony of mine?" Jack smiled to himself. He was a poet, and, deep down, he knew it.

Still, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. It was almost impossible to hear anything of the sound of the machinery and the rain, but was that.... scratching?

Jack jumped down off the track control system and headed over to the fence. Still nothing on thermal scans. As he approached the fence, he could hear the sounds of metal creaking.

Edging slowly around the corner of a storage shed, Jack could see this section of the game fence being pushed and bent. That couldn't be right though. The explorer surveys from before this colony was settled showed nothing larger than a canid back on old Earth. Nothing on this sorry excuse for a planet is big enough to do anything to the game fence.

Bringing up his binos again, he searched the gloom. There was still nothing showing up on the screen except... trees.

"Oh, no. We cleared this whole area for the base!" Jack screamed in his mind as he started running back to the base.
