A few thoughts on the Meyer debacle.

Of all the things that have emerged about Urban Meyer's debacle, the thing that I find the most despicable is the fact that Meyer clearly tried to drag Trevor Lawrence down with him.

Meyer didn't travel back to Jacksonville after a regular season loss and got caught playing grab ass with a woman who isn't his wife a couple of days after the game. During his unconvincing, half-assed apology tour, he tried to bring up Trevor Lawrence's bachelor party.

Even if those were exactly the same thing, it's a bad look for the 57 year-old head coach to try to bring his 22 year-old quarterback into the scandal.

What's more, it's not even close to the same thing. Lawrence's bachelor party occurred before he was even drafted, there's no evidence of him messing around with other women, and even if there were, it's still a different issue.

Still, the bottom line is that the real problem is that Meyer wasn't doing his job. Compare that to other players and coaches in the NFL. Josh Allen played a game one day after his grandmother died last year. The Bills' offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll called a game this season after his grandmother died; and, she's the person who raised him. Meyer skipped work because he needed to "unwind."

No wonder the entire organization is pissed.
