I want to make sure you know who this psychopath is, not because he's important or powerful, but because his friends are.
His name is Nick Fuentes, and he runs the America First Political Action Committee. He is, in every respect, a Nazi. I don't mean that as an insult, and I don't use that word as an insult... I mean it in the literal sense that he espouses positions that are indistinguishable from NSDAP. He's prone to making statements such as:
(Regarding the Amber Herd / Johnny Depp trial): ""We need to go back to burning women alive more."
(Regarding Trump's "stolen election" claims): "America needs a white uprising....elect Trump one more time and then stop having elections."
There are plenty of christian nationalist / white supremacists bumping around in the MAGA end of the GOP. This particular one matters because of who his friends are.
Congressman Matt Goetz publicly acknowledges following Fuentes' program, and calls him "Well informed and thought provoking".
Congressman Paul Gosar has warmly met Fuentes on multiple occasions, and volunteered to be be "headliner" as Fuentes AFPAC, giving his speech in between Fuentes praising Putin and giggling approving references to Hitler.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken the stage besides at Fuentes AFPAC, and empathized with an audience of outright fascists, lamenting that they are “cancelled Americans”.
Addressing people who routinely cheer both Hitler and Putin, she said :
“You’ve been handed the responsibility to fight for our Constitution and stand for our freedoms, and stop the Democrats, who are the Communist Party of the United States of America,”
After Fuentes was banished from pretty much every non-fascist social media platform in the world, he was given a "verified" account by Donald Trump's "Truth Social", a platform that Fuentes is still using to spew his anti-Semitic, anti-women, christian-nationalist bile.
Arizona state-senator Wendy Rogers (who is a darling of the MAGA circuit) regularly praises Fuentes, appears with Fuentes, and promotes Fuentes. The GOP has refused to remove her from her seat.
When Kayne West threats to go "death con three" (because he has no idea what DEFCON means), the fascist end of the GOP didn't condemn him... they defended him. I predict that the situation for Jewish men, women, and children in America is going to become decidedly less safe in the coming years.
When the fascist wing of America's politicos defends people like Kanye West, Alex Jones, and Nick Fuentes... believe them. Their views are far, far more mainstream than you suspect, and the Overton window is shifting rapidly in the direction of bigotry and idiocy.
