Our Favourite Clown

"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."

What endeared us to Anyim Ogwo? Was it his joviality, his equanimity or youthful exuberance? Or was it the kind light in his eyes or the generosity of his smile. He was a giant and towered in our childhood eyes. He would be terrifying if he wasn't so gentle. Whatever endeared us to him kept us glued as he danced with his juju pot and mesmerised his audience with the movement of his legs. I didn't think that Africa had clowns but I suppose you were one. One of a kind. It was wonderful that we had you but we did not have you enough and you will be missed.

Ouch! What happened to him?

It must have been a case of not paying enough attention to health.

Sorry for him! I had this guy around my neighbourhood,a clown. More of a drunk but very kind and wise. Passed out too.

I guess it is the way of most talented people. Sad. Thank you for your humanity.

... Do not ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee...

You can see his cheerful and mild heart through the mask, definitely gonna be missed
