I had never really wanted to say anything about the state of Nigeria where we have a government led by a president who has continuously been absent for more than 90days but after today's irony discovered, I decided to drop this.

"Yar' Adua is sick impeach him" Buhari said on March 9 2010 when the former president stayed away from the country for long due to ill health. He asserted that since he was incapacitated the Federal Executive council should do the needful and follow the constitution by declaring him incapacitated. In his words "The Executive Council of the Federation must do the right thing because once we start moving away from the constitution, then we are inviting anarchy.”

Interestingly we are in same situation again where our president is sick and has stayed away from the country for a period more than 90 days after an earlier over stretched medical leave. Shouldn't we follow his ways and follow the constitution in same vein? Why can't the Federal Executive council follow the advise of Mr. President on such matters of prolonged ailment of the president?

It is normal for anyone to fall sick but where a person holding a political office as sensitive as that of the president I think his ailment and absence is one that should be the concern of Nigerians since it affects us directly. Annoyingly, the case here is one of total confusion as there is paucity of updates about the health status of the president for more than 90days except for pictures which we are not too certain were taken at the purported time. Why can't we have a life coverage of our president if he is doing better now as claimed?
"The Executive Council of the Federation must do the right thing because once we start moving away from the constitution, then we are inviting anarchy.” I think indeed we are inviting anarchy again after 7years
