Krisp is a noise cancelling app that removes background noise during real time calls. Whether you're calling through Skype, Zoom, Slack, Webex or any other conferencing application, you can use Krisp to remove all the noise around you.
This new phenomenal invention is backed up by Deep Neural Networks, with the essence of training the neural network to remove background noise from the human speech in audio recordings and have the clean human voice as an output.
Thanks to that, all the noises such as keyboard tapping, chewing sounds, traffic noise from an open window, loud sirens, dog barks or chit-chats will all be gone.
Now it's important to know how this entire app works, since all you do is switch it on.
There are 2 features - Speaker and Microphone: Let's discuss both in more details.
Speaker feature enables you to listen without noise, which means that noise coming from other call participants won't reach you .
To achieve this, Krisp adds a virtual speaker between the physical speaker and the conferencing app. First, the audio comes from the conferencing app to Krisp, then Krisp removes the noise and transmits the audio to the speakers of your laptop.
Microphone feature enables you to speak without noise. So you can do anything you want during a conference call (you can even drill a hole into a wall next to you ) and nobody will hear a thing.
The process goes a bit differently for this one - Krisp adds a virtual microphone between the physical mic and the conferencing app. From there, the audio you produce goes from the physical mic to Krisp. Next, Krisp processes it to remove noise and transmits it to the conferencing app for others to hear your clean crisp voice.
Krisp works with any conferencing app which allows to change the microphone and speaker settings (that's over 600 conferencing apps!).
To have a clearer idea of how Krisp works, you can take a look at this quick demo and then try Krisp for yourself.
Krisp can be downloaded from the official krisp.ai website.
Have a wonderful time getting rid of background noise in your conference calls!
