As a design thinker, I practise design thinking myself. Hence, one of my core skills is EMPATHIZE. I can't help but empathize with myself and many other folks here for seeing posts about steemit left, right, up, down and centre. During the empathizing stage, we put ourselves in the shoes of the users and collect observations. Me and You. Here, i present to you......
My Steemit field observations
Posts of fellow steemians who have similar opinion as me.

Round and round we go... like a merry go round
People who left and not coming back...
don't really provide an interesting experience.
Thanks to @nadejde @razvanelulmarin @tuck-fheman @grittenald who have bravely spoke the truth even though it is immensely unpopular to talk about the weaknesses about Steemit. And my guess why people tend not to talk about steemit weakness is that because it won't win them the upvotes and of course most importantly MONEY. The thing about truth is that the truth hurts but truth will prevail. But, I mean, really do you want the cruel truth or a comfortable delusion???
Why this is a problem for steemit
From the observation above, I can see this is damaging to steemit as a content website in the long run if steemians were to just keep writing about steemit because of how profitable it is for them to receive upvotes. The thing is there are still many steemians who want to read stuff that are not steemit-related. And how about for peope who know steemit but have never registered?
Have we ever thought about what is deterring them from registering?
Is it really good for this group of people to keep seeing stuff about steemit and steem?
Will this be detrimental to the number of new users registration and users retention?
If you are like me who no longer want to read stuff about how good steemit platform is or how great steem is, and wish to read really unique and solid content, i have created #non-steemit and #non-steem tags. At least, i think temporarily, those tags will be definitely steemit-free and steem-free, and will contain diverse topics if we tag them. It will also help provide data on which #non-steemit and #non-steem topics are popular. It is probably the fastest way to filter away steemit and steem related posts. The website developers also need not have a "non-steemit" landing page.
My Last Plea
Writers and bloggers, please tag your articles with #non-steemit and #non-steem tags if you are not sure what to tag your unique articles so that your articles can be more visible and get some love. I think it will also be great to know what non-steemit and non-steem content are popular. If this last plea does not work, i don't know what will. Going off to tag mine!
P/S: I know it is ironic to post on #steemit tag but if i do not tag it, this post will just sank to the bottom and never be seen again.
I can't upvote this enough. I'm done upvoting on the "MAKE MONEY WITH STEEM! HERE IS HOW!" and the "Here is another thing you can do with Steem!" and don't forget the "Steem stastics! Yay!" posts too.
FYI, noticed you tagged me. I spoke to some of the some on Slack and they upvoted Joe's post. He is happy and will provide more content.
I have been working on reading through everything and upvoting all those that look like someone actually put the time into the article. Even if I don't like the subject.

Great that he is coming back. More diverse content is really needed!
