I must confess that I have always been one of those people who prefer to read a good novel that will entertain you, rather than read an essay on a current topic that will help you better understand a more specific subject. That's why I don't usually read almost anything that doesn't correspond to the fiction section of bookstores, but I do like to read from time to time a few biographies of some of those people I admire.
That is why for this month of November, which is already running out of days, I have decided that this is the ideal time to read Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography. For anyone who doesn't know, Sir Alex was the coach of Manchester United's football team for just over 27 years. The main reason I have to read this book is that United has been my team since I was nine or ten years old, and I think it's a perfect book for all the fans of the beautiful game.
As I said before, biographies is a genre that I am passionate about; but in this case, since it is an autobiography written by a person as well read as Ferguson, you are sure that you will find a certain quality in the narration of facts that for many fans like me are not completely unknown; but it is that more personal side that attracts me to read a book that reviews the successes and the complicated beginnings.
After finishing the first chapter, I'm absolutely convinced that I'm going to enjoy this book very much, and I hope to be able to do a review that does it justice, and I also hope to dedicate at least a couple more tickets to Manchester United.
