It was achingly close in 2020. And near the top of the ticket is one of the worst Republican candidates of this election in Mark Robinson.
If Harris can win North Carolina it opens up a ton of paths to 270. It would allow Harris the ability to lose Pennsylvania and still win the election.
In Nate Silver's model, Harris has the highest probability of winning the election if she wins North Carolina given state correlations. Even higher than Pennsylvania and Georgia.
