CDC warns 8 North-Central states

The Federal Government alerts the residents of 8 North-central states, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio after people eating pre-cut melon that linked with salmonella bacteria.

People with salmonella infection have no symptoms. In some people, develops diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps at the time of 8 to 72 hours. Sometimes, the infection threatens patient’s life. According to the CDC health care reports, in the United States every year the infection causes about 1.2 million people sick, 23,000 in to hospitalized and 450 deaths.

Pre-cut melon from stores

However, the suspected pre-cut melon products sold in clear, plastic clamshell containers in popular stores linked to SpartanNash Distribution, Caito foods, Gordon Food services. While, CDC warns the people from the above mentioned eight states should not eat the fruit, beverages with pre-cut melon from stores.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S., reported that more than 60 people sickened, 6 in Illinois, 11 in Indiana, 32 in Michigan, 10 in Missouri and 1 in Ohio. Nearly, 30 people hospitalized in this outbreak. It’s imaginable more cases will turn up. It takes days or weeks for food borne diseases to get detailed. Until, reported sick in five states.

The CDC also stated the investigation of another salmonella eruption caused by backyard chickens that has made 124 people sick in 36 states.
