As expected North Carolina Republicans are gerrymandering the hell out of the state.

What's so crazy is this state could very easily be blue statewide next cycle. It is experiencing many of the same suburban/exurban blue shifts that Georgia has been experiencing. However the GOP may obtain a stranglehold on the state. It isn't too different to what has happened to Wisconsin- a state where the GOP structurally dominates even though the state is fairly blue statewide.

Other state redistricting developments will attenuate the overall national effect of this to some extent, but it still is quite unfortunate.

Whenever a libertarian dude or whatever says voting doesn't matter I have to remind that there are a lot of consequential races each election besides the top of the ballot. Many of them relatively small local races. Particularly "boring" races like judges.
