Officially Winter & Officially contemplating the Sun and all it's glory. I recently learned that "Glory" is derived from light. The idea of shining the light upon someone or some thing, although light isn't the exact meaning.
[glory," which was used in Biblical writing to translate a Hebrew word which had a sense of "brightness, splendor, magnificence, majesty of outward appearance." ]
Your humble vagabond suspects that "glory" is one of those words that was used to describe the light of the sun, when it was thee object of "praise" amongst hue-mans, and then switched to praising the deity. For my purposes "glory" is more light than praise. The Sun (Helios) does not demand praise. It's those intermediaries, the sacerdotal class, that demand praise (of themselves) on behalf of a "power" (not the Sun) which cannot be proven to exist.
There are probably a lot of words in now dead/extinct languages that are inspired by the sun, or light. It makes perfect sense. One doesn't have to step into the feet of primitive hue-man to appreciate the radiance and glory of the sun.
