When we were young...

When I was a teenager i used to go to the beach at night, i would go alone and i would stay there for hours, most of the times there would be no one around for miles, just me, the sand, the sea and the stars, i was always a very shy boy, never liked to hit on girls like my other friends would have, never liked being loud and manly in any way, never really cared about cars or sports or being the best, i liked being alone and i liked being around nature more than around people, for some reason at the beach at night i always felt alive, it was one of the only places i felt safe and at home, i would dive in naked and swim forever, i would simply float there looking at the sky and wonder what else is out there, what kind of a man would i grow up to be, why don't i fit in and what is the next chapter in my life, would life be as hard as i imaging it to be to can if be as smooth and wavy as the ocean...

Endless thoughts would go thru my head there at the beach, and as the night came to an end i would pack my things and head back in my little town, back to school, back to my friends and the system, back to my parents and the life i was slowly trying to shape to be my own, many years have passed since that time and i can clearly say that it saved my mind from being lost, it helped me see who i really am inside and that i am special in one way or another, that the ocean takes everyone in without judgment, that we are all the same under the night skies, that time alone is time well spend and we are and always be part of nature.

I long for those days and happy to see who i grow up to be, but secretly i always wish i could go back in time, back to that place, where i was young, alone and free....
