Tripping Out On Numbers

in numbers •  6 years ago

Note: NOT numerology. Just numbers.

The infinitely repeating pattern through doubling and simplifying is 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5, 1...(looks musical to me). Note there's no 3, 6 or 9 in the pattern

1+1 = 2
2+2 = 4
4+4 = 8
8+8 = 16 (1+6 =7)
16+16 = 32 (3+2 = 5)
32+32 = 64 (6+4 = 10, 1+0 = 1)
64+64 = 128 (1+2+8 = 11, 1+1 =2)

3 and 6 have their own infinite loop:

3+3 = 6
6+6 = 12 = 3
12+12 = 24 = 6
24+24 = 48 = 12 = 3

Etc.

9 is by itself and is 9 all the way down.

9+9 = 18 = 9
18+18 = 36 = 9
36+36 = 72 = 9

Etc.

Here is another weird one:

Divide any number by seven....notice anything?
1 divided by 7 = .142857....it repeats over and over endlessly. For any number not evenly divisible by 7, the answer quickly settles down to 142857142857142857142857 etc.

OMG numerology is the one of the hardest subject for me to get out throughout it . 👍

It is amazing to think about how the ancient people that developed the counting systems probably knew all of these things right off the bat that we are still discovering today.

I was never really good with math or numbers. They always confuse me. It is interesting though some of the strange calculations that can be done and the patterns that can be formed
