Obviously avoiding fast food whenever possible is the best choice for health but there are some times in life where you simply don't have the time or motivation to get more creative with your food choices. For most people this is probably quite often, but there a few things you can add to your decision making that can help you to make better choices.
ditch the soda pop

Everyone knows that full sugar sodas are some of the worst things you can possible consume and this is a large part of the reason why fast food is looked down on so much. There are healthier options available at a fast food restaurant but as soon as you throw a Coke or Sprite into the mix the sugar and calorie content goes through the roof. Most places offer some sort of alternative like a bottle of water - take it.
go for meat options with little or no bread

I'm not trying to say that fried chicken is GOOD for you or anything because it isn't. However, it is less bad for you than other options. When I am on the go and don't have time to make my own food or order something better, I will often go for friend chicken such as KFC. I skip the fries and I go for original recipe because it doesn't include any breading for the outside and doing this eliminates a lot of the extra calories. yeah, I know that crunchy outer shell is delicious but it also contains almost zero nutritional value and a ton of calories.
Ignore wraps

Although it doesn't happen nearly as much now as it used to some places still try to market wraps, pitas, and tortillas as being healthier than bread. Unfortunately, in most cases they are actually worse in terms of calories and carbs. How they managed to trick so many people with this is fantastic indicator of marketing power and how we always need to check for ourselves on what products contain. If you really want a wrap, go for it. But if you are ordering it because you believe it is somehow better for you than eating bread I'll tell you right now - You are wrong and painfully misguided.
Ideally, you should never eat fast food if you can help it but I understand that life kind of gets in the way of being healthy all the time. If you have to do it, you have to do it. It doesn't have to be as bad for you as you might be thinking though. A 2 or 3 piece chicken set has a ton of protein and depending on the breading (or lack of it) it isn't bad at all. Too Bad Boston Market didn't work with the public. They had some wonderful choices for those trying to eat healthier.
