NVIDIA don't use HBM2 in the next GTX Volta, the cause its the price and diponibility of this memories

The new NVIDIA will be Volta and at the pace that we go, just as it arrives before AMD Vega, although that is another matter. NVIDIA is working on new high-end graphics cards, which will have twenty-one billion transistors and as the CEO of NVIDIA commented, they were launched in May. We took time with the rumor about some potential AMD Volta graphics accompanied by HBM2 memories, whether for a possible Titan based on Volta or other solutions, but it seems that NVIDIA is not for the job.

It seems that the company is clear, the HBM2 are expensive and not profitable, in fact, one of the speculations of the constant delay of AMD Vega are the HBM2 memories, which would be costly to make and complex, since they would not occur in Sufficient quantities, causing delays in the AMD roadmap. NVIDIA seeing these issues will probably use GDDR5X memories for now and possibly for a high end, they will use GDDR6 memories, as has been rumored in recent weeks.
