A to Z NYSC Camp Requirements. Chapter One

Going to NYSC Orientation Camp is indeed a journey one needs to embark on with adequate preparation. Preparation as used here entails gathering of the camp essential materials.
Generally, NYSC camp requirement can be classified into two;

A. Official camp physical registration requirements (Compulsory)

B. Requirment for Personal comfort in camp (Not compulsory but necessary).

We shall therefore, treat these in chapters.

CHAPTER ONE

A. The official camp physical registeration requirements (Compulsory):
Every Prospective Corps Member is to meet these requirements before admission into NYSC camp.

Below are the highlights:

1. Call-up Letter: This is very vital. It is the only evidence you have to show you have been called up for service. However, prospective corps member choose the means by which he or she wants to receive the call-up letter, which can either be recieved via institution or via online printing. To receive via institution is free while via online printing requires one time payment of about Three Thousand Naira (N3, 000).

Call-up letter remains NYSC property, NYSC will surely ask for it, and once they take it from you, it can never be returned to you again. So, if at all you should forget something, forget your luggage, but never forget your call-up letter.

NOTE: Call-up letter must never be laminated. Just leave it the way it is.

1. Green Card: Green-card, otherwise called Data Slip, is a document containing PCM bio-data and NYSC kits specification which is to be printed in coloured after successful online registration. Go to camp with it, it is highly needed.

2. School I.D card or final year student identity card: This is required in camp. If you do not have school identity card, go to the student affairs unit in your institution to make a request for final year identity card.

3. Official Statement/Notification of Results: You must go to camp along with the original copy. It is compulsory. Without this, you will not be allowed to serve.

4. Photocopies of all the original documents: Make at least five (5) photocopies of each of every required document.

5. Medical Certificate of Fitness: You should go along with your medical certificate of fitness, obtained from either of Military or General Hospitals.

6. Passport photograph: This is very important. Take at least 10 copies in white or red background. You will
   need them for different registrations. For Example, skill acquisition groups, religious groups, sports, redeployment, bank account opening e.t.c

7. Certificate/License: For Doctors, Pharmacists,
   Nurses, Lab Scientists and Lawyers etc. Go along with your proof of certification.
   Graduates of Medicine and Pharmacy are expected to have their Certificates of Registration with Nigerian Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (NMDCN) and Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), respectively.
