Peer-to-peer charity donations project beta launch
The PolloPollo scrum team presented their PolloPollo project at the ITU university in Denmark last week which is now in beta. Wondering who the team are? As one Obbie pointed out, from a gender perspective the team is very well balanced. A rare thing in the heavily male dominated crypto world.
As part of the launch there were live listings of products on the PolloPollo website. These quickly disappeared as donors donated Bytes to the smart contracts. More have since been added. Santiago Law and Malos10 are two Venezuelan Obbies that are making much of this possible. Their help is greatly appreciated.
Ethereum vs Obyte smart contracts
Obyte developer Tarmo was in Barcelona this week and presented some of the differences between Ethereum and Obyte smart contracts to a small audience of developers at a coworking space. Tarmo tells us the presentation file is missing much of what he explained verbally - but you still might well find out more about how Obyte compares with Ethereum. If you find that this could be interesting for developers in your coworking space then Tarmo can be invited to present it again.
ORider improvements
ORider developer Peter Miklos has made two helpful improvements:
- Drivers and passengers can now contact each other. Ride sharing isn't too likely if the driver and passenger cannot find each other. Thankfully, both driver and passenger can click a big button on the ride or reservation screen to make contact.
- No passwords required. The login screen for mobile devices has been improved so it is now much clearer. You can now login just by visiting the login page and clicking the login button. No passwords needed. Try it now
Reminder - ORider is a car pooling application to ensure drivers get paid and riders don't pay unless they reach their destination. It’s powered by Obyte smart contracts.
Mega whale surfaces from the depths
It was brought to our attention recently that a mega whale with a wallet balance of 43,018 GB entered the Weekly Draw recently. Their wallet contains more than 4% of all Bytes that will ever exist, and if you are wondering, it is the 4th largest wallet balance. This doesn’t mean that Prince of Whale airdrops are now decided because this whale is not alone, the next largest whale in the draw airdrop has 17,349 GB.
Obbies have now linked around 18% of the circulating supply of Bytes to the Weekly Draw. Remember you can increase your chances of winning the Weekly Draw by referring others to the draw – see the announcement for details. Every Byte counts because there are separate draws for goldfish and whales.
