Occult Demo — SteemCN

Finally, I managed to create a demo version of the game Occult, about which I said so much :)

Occult is a card game in which 2 out of 8 magicians fight (there are only two of them in the demo). Using magic blood they try to beat the opponent.

Game was written in Game Maker: Studio 1.4.

Plans for the game

Implement all the magicians

We generally have cards for each magician, but they have not yet been implemented.

Better AI

Demo includes AI new generation (compared to older), but only in very basic version. If it were to improve the computer, it would have made fewer errors and could make a combo.

Move the game to Love2D

Moving the game to Love2D would make it possible to make FLOSS games available in the future. It seems that Game Maker: Studio and Love2D are similar, but in reality they are very different. For now I'm at the stage of understanding all these mechanisms, but I may not be able to succeed.

Story?

The game was supposed to have a feature mode inspired by Visual Novels. Unfortunately due to legal problems, the game is probably not going to be sold (and will be released for free), so this mode may never come out ...

This version may display graphics poorly, it is a known bug in Game Maker, but not repaired. In addition, this version does not have some graphic effects. If you are afraid to download the version on your computer - use this.

On 16:9 screens (I do not know how on the other) the game starts up in Full Screen in 4:3. I reported a bug to the creators of Game Maker, but I do not know if it will be fixed.
