Why limit the maghrib became a reference today in Islam? There is no evidence in the Qur'an explicitly mentions the maghrib as limits of the early days of Islam. But the hadeeth of the Apostles about the start and end of Ramadan Moon sighting can be the foundation that started since maghrib. It ordered, "Fast when you see it (new moon) and fast (aidulfitri) If you see her".
Moon sighting hilal that can convince has the influx of new moon is Moon sighting post maghrib. When it has visible hilal, then that's when the beginning of the month is valid. If it was the beginning of Ramadan, then that evening tarawih and practices of Ramadan begins. Then fasting begins since dawn till sunset. If that initial I.e. tarawih, there are no more changing with gema takbir welcomed Eid. So, the date of the beginning of the month starts when the maghrib. No matter the day begins when the sunset prayer. So in Islam, Thursday night is Friday night, as the day begins at sunset. The phrase was already prevalent and socialized in Indonesia.

When the science of arithmetic (calculations) develops, the reports kept made reference earlier in the day. The position of the month when maghrib is becoming the reference in the determination of the inclusion of early Islam. Some of the classic criteria of using limit reports to mark the beginning of the month. For example, "ijtimak qoblal ghurub" (Sun-Moon conjunction before maghrib) and "Existence" Hilal (hilal is considered to exist or partial disc of the Moon is still over the horizon) at sunset. The criteria of visibility or imkan sighting hilal (hilal sighting possibility) use the position of the moon when the reports provided a certain height or other parameters as a condition of the entry of the beginning of the month.
Now Crescent observation during the day is already possible with the technology of telescopes with the cover of the Sun, infrared filters, digital camera, and image processing software. People call it "Sighting Qoblal Ghurub" (Observations before maghrib) considered alternative solutions. But surely that's not a solution, but a new problem in law of worship. Daytime sighting could not ensure the turn of calendar month, except during a solar eclipse. Therefore Crescent noon is not the deciding hilal a month early.
Sighting the Crescent Moon during the day becomes a question of law. Because it could not ensure the turn of calendar month, then there is the idea of combining the sighting of the Crescent Moon by day with the result being brought to account for ijtimak (conjunction). According to the idea that, when it's ijtimak and the Crescent Moon is observed, then come on in new moon. The idea was very awkward. If ijtimak made deciding, then create what no sighting of the Crescent Moon? Why not just trust the results of arithmetic about the ijtimak is that? It seems that idea is attempting to accommodate those with proven visibility sighting the Crescent. But the evidence is wrong and make a legally ambiguous. When it's ijtimak and the visibility of the Crescent New Moon already considered, then what is the ruling on that day? If it was the beginning of Ramadan, is it that time already entered 1 Ramadan so Muslims must've been obliged to fast? Fasting must be initialized since dawn, so if the early months of the fall of the day, if he or she is obligated to replace it if the time is not fasting? If any are fasting, his intentions in doubt. The morning fasting sha'baan, during his fasting of Ramadan. Legally ambiguous!

Because the bumps on the legal issues of worship, may also exist that modify the conditions. Although already ijtimak and seen the Moon during the day, the start of the sunset provisions, worship as usual. Oh, if so for what hard-hard to do during the day, when sighting the edges using the concept of sighting reports in determining early post-war days.
