Hello everyone!
@ocd is about to start their manual curation again and as mentioned previously this will be the main gateway to the whitelist of @ocdb. The curators will be looking mainly for authors not yet in the whitelist (that haven't been curated before) and are undervalued but providing quality and original content to Steem.
We have for a long time encouraged manual curators to vote on both the compilation posts of @ocd (100% goes to the curators) and on the nominations in the post before the bigger votes come in later. What this means is that if you are a curator but you are having a hard time finding posts to curate daily, you can now follow the @ocd trail and automatically vote on unique and underrated authors.
This is easy with the free tool called https://steemauto.com!
All you have to do is go there and sign up and you can choose different ways you want to support the authors we curate and/or the curation project itself. After having logged in, you can go to "Curation Trail" on the left and on "search for trail" you type in ocd and click on "follow" and that's it! You will also be able to set a percentage of how much you want to follow it daily. OCD will be curating about 20% voting power daily so if you want to leave say 5 votes free to use yourself per day, you follow OCD with only 50% strength.
If you want to support the OCD project with your vote as well (the OCD account does not self-vote) then you can go to "fanbase" on the left side and search for OCD there as well, as of right now we have 31 followers there even though we haven't posted in a long time. :)
Bear in mind that in the fanbase, we also encourage manual curators to front-run us and receive a bigger share of the curation rewards. Same thing goes for my own account too - I was surprised to find myself in the 16th position on Steemauto's fanbase!
We love manual curators, if you feel like you barely have voting power left cause you're doing a great job curating there is no need for you to join our trail. This is mainly for people that are busy with posts, projects or witnesses and would like their votes to be distributed as wide as possible and help the engagement and incentive of new authors.

This is one of the best projects on Steemit a the moment. About three months ago I quit using bid bots because I felt they were not really giving back any value to the content creators. This project is a breath of fresh air and I will back it on the Curation Trail.
As someone who struggles to get good votes on my posts I hope to make it into the whitelist eventually.

It's a pretty sweet tool and unlike steemvoter this one is free.
I haven't used it much myself since I've been manually curating in forever and never got around to start a curation trail there after the sudden shut down of Steemian. For people who want to support many good authors but don't have the time to find them and want an edge on higher curation rewards this is a great solution.

Same here that only manual upvotes from me. Also I’m not a big fan of curation as I feel all the rewards you should go to content creators.
I know we’ve people with different life priorities and it’s always good have options so our fellow STEEMians can mak the most of it!

I really appreciate the OCD project. I am someone who does a lot of manual curation, so I only follow one trail and only within a pretty slim VP window. But I definitely see the value for people who don't have time to do a lot of reading, but who do want to support quality content on the platform.

So to become a curator ,I would have to have a substantial amount of steem power right? Or is there a selection process for that?

They look everywhere on the platform, if you meet the criteria you will be curated at one point or another and that way added to the OCDB whitelist that will offer you positive returns on your bids daily.
For Steemauto there is no restriction on Steempower as far as I know, even with 100 SP if you are following it with 50% which gives you 5 votes daily you can cast yourself, they will cast the other 5 for you in percentages even without you having the vote slider!

No particular hashtag anymore, you just gotta post quality content, your average payouts be underrewarded and someone from the team will eventually find you.
Until OCD starts though, you can get a friend to recommend you for the whitelist in my OCDB recommendation post and we will look into your account. This offer is over when OCD restarts curation on Monday.

Sounds quite interesting...and very exciting @acidyo as it opens up reward option for many good authors. Lately many were dependents on different dapps like steempress esteem musing etc..to get their rewards such curation initiative will definatelly ignite more enthusiasm among authors......

Thanks for the updates! I also read the one about OCDB. So just to make sure I understand, if we’ve already been curated, we should use the OCDB bot (not ocd-resteem) since the OCD acct will be used to find new Steemians who are not already on the whitelist?

Hi @acidyo, does that mean if we've been on the whitelist, we are not supposed to use the tag of ocd-resteem and won't be curated anymore?

That is really good news @acidyo I believe many little "fishes" are hungry for OCD attention adn will "die" without your project, it has a great reputation of supporting the minnows and it is great to restart it. I believe you will not get richer from the upvotes of them but you can imagine how much happiness it will bring them and it is another stimulus to keep the people on Steem and makes them interested and attract new people, because that is the Aim of all of us to make Steem stronger and popular one day :)

This should be a great initiative for authors and curators as it can be very hard to be seen outside of your circle.
Especially for some great authors who don't get much recognition. I would love to get whitelisted and will have to look at a few of the people who I follow and would definitely deserve to get in there. There are definitely some who I would nominate for it.
