The New Off Grid Project ~ Setting Up Home

Melanie, Mom and I are setting up our new home for The Off Grid Project - A New Beginning. We now have 16 acres of land, two homes and a garage.

We will take one house fully off the grid and use this one full time in order to save on utilities. The other home will be a summer guest cottage and study for us.

The garage is going to be just that - a garage. I will not be cluttering it up so that I can work on vehicles as needed.

For my work shop, office and wood shop I have one Amish shed and another on the way. This will allow me to have everything I need organized and sorted. There will be no more clutter or crowded work areas.

Since our information has already been shared on the internet there is no reason for us to hide any details.

We have a trailer and a chalet plus a garage on 16 acres of land. The deed is public knowledge so I guess we cannot remain secret about our location anyway.

Mom and Melanie finished cleaning the trailer and moved on to the chalet today. I am unpacking the moving truck and putting stuff away where it goes.

I am taking my time and sorting things as I work. Occasionally one of the two ladies help me for a while hauling boxes away from the truck as I unpack.

I am also immediately setting up my office in the Amish shed.

I hope to have my solar panels and off grid power in the shed. This power will run to the trailer which will be our home.
