on a flipcoin ...

since actually we been waiting now for

25019658 seconds or
416994 minutes or
6949 hours or
289
days

since we ordered (and paid) an nvidia rtx 3080 gpu ... humankind is probably the only "new" game available that we want to play and actually CAN with the hardware available

however ... caught by the hype, and a sid meyer junkie since the Atari ST when the boy was 14 playing a 100 turn civ-demo over and over and over and over until (in soviet hellgium back then) a copy was found ...

still looking for the "this is why it costs €50" moment ,

tbh we havent played too much yet so it might yet strike , sadly more than an hour so a refund on steam is no longer an option (maybe it grows on you) , maybe there's more to it than the first layer shows or maybe humankind has devolved so bad in the last 2 years this is the new awesome ...

its not bad ... so far , but we havent seen any WOAWW flashes

maybe the consequence of gaming since yars revenge with a paddle

try to get some more indepth later, quite sure there will be plenty of time for gaming again soon enough

Luckily a bunch of us got civ for free on epic games a few months ago. Sorry the game is not so great. I ended up getting war3 remastered... that was very sad, game is probably dead by now.

mwell, after a few rounds it kinda grows on ya but the battle system isnt much to my liking, having to attack a faction until they're worn out and then terms of surrender dont include unconditional , can only pick a few and at the end all my troops have to leave their territory or get damaged "from attrition" and then i have to WAIT for new support from my own peoples b/f i can attack them again to finish what i would finish in the first place (who would leave someone to stab you in the back while you're advancing, right?) ... thats annoying

the rest isnt half as poly and full of choices as the hype would pretend, my first AAA title i buy in ages at full price and i remember why i didnt anymore lol

its "not bad"

but i wouldnt pay €50 for it if i could have played it a few hours (and after one hour steam refund isnt possible) ... i could have gotten 2 to 5 indie games for that

TRUE DAT ...

its really odd how you stand at the last remains of their empire with full armies ready to take it down and then you have to stop and go to the border, wait and try again while you could save countless lives (lol) if you just tell them surrender now :(
took me five or six times declaring war before i finally took down the capital b/c i didnt have enough support credits every single time and every single time i couldnt just waltz over the city either ...

other than that ... its

yea

"not bad" :)

This is why I go the cracked way with any AAA games. Not willing to waste so much money... and an hour is not nearly enough time to really get into the game and decide if you like it, steam... not gonna comment. They should really start like a token based gaming where you can play any games as long as you have tokens, that way you never waste too much money on a game you will never play again. Or at least implement it as a method of liking a game before you buy it.
