Shukran means Thank You

in ofwlife •  7 years ago

Things are getting tougher each day for OFW'S in the Middle East. Aside from rising cost of living and implementation of taxes, whether directly or indirectly, retaining one's job is always a worry for most expats.

Having a job until this time is something I am always thankful for. We experience some not-so-good experiences with colleagues and bosses but we let it pass because we are more concerned of securing what we have. That being said, we don't expect anything more than our monthly salary. No appreciation, whether monetary or otherwise, is never an issue.

So seeing this after lunch, is such a surprise!

Our company encourages managers to thank the staff who have gone over and beyond by sending some items with "SHUKRAN" logo on it.

SHUKRAN is an Arabic Word that means "THANK YOU"

I got my first Shukran item from the manager whom I respected and miss so much. Next is this one, from a project manager who helped me so much in coping up with the changes in our department and I tell you, she's just a cold breeze fo me on a very hot summer day.

The time in between? Nah, let's keep my very good mood for the day.

Remember to always thank The Almighty for each passing day. As always, to Him be all the glory!
