My first Oil Painting on Canvas "Long way trough Nature"

Time for trying someting new

After having much fun painting with acrylic colours in the last couple of months i decided to try something new ...oil colours.

There is this guy Kevin Hill, who has his Youtube chanel "KevinOilPaint" he is oil painting nature landscapes, showing off his techniques.
After i watched some of his videos i was very inspired and motivated to try this by myself.

I bought some oil paint colours, new brushes and a smal 30x40 canvas for practice.

After the first brush strokes i fast recognized the differents to acrylic colours...there are much thicker and more "creamy" ...it took some try and error bit i decided not to give up and finish the painting.

Because oil colours dry much slower (up to one week) i had much time to work out some details and now its totaly dry and finished.

Here are some progress pics:

It was a lot of fun and im sure i will work on my oil painting skills in future...if you have some tips for me let me know in the comments.

Love it - great work here - just getting into the traditional painting myself.
