The good profits as compared to the traditional farming attracted the attention of the farmers towards this farming. Taking advice and guidance from Moinuddin, some farmers of the village tried their hand at its cultivation. The good income from sticks and seeds encouraged the farmers and soon the whole village turned to gladiolus cultivation. Today the situation is such that most of the farmers of the village have started cultivating flowers. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh, Horticulture Specialist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ballia says, "This time is the right time for the cultivation of gladiolus, in its cultivation, the most attention should be given to the soil of the field, because the better the soil, the better the production will be. " Gladiolus can be cultivated in all types of soils, but loamy loamy soil with pH value between 5.5 to 6.5. Also, proper management of drainage of land is considered best. Gladiolus can be cultivated successfully in open places where sunlight is available from morning till evening. According to the report of Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, 1685 thousand tonnes of open flowers and 472 thousand tonnes of cut flowers were produced last year. There is a huge demand for Indian flowers in Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands and United Arab Emirates. Varieties should be planted in different beds according to their flowering time in early, middle and late. A total of four to five weedings are required. Twice the soil should be applied to the plants, in the same nitrogen should be used as top dressing. Soil should be applied for the first time at three leaf stage and second time at six leaf stage. While preparing the field, decomposed manure should be mixed in the last plowing. Along with this, due to high requirement of nutrients, 200 kg nitrogen, 400 kg phosphorus and 200 kg potash should be given per hectare.
