I love scuffles in advertisements and chewing competition. Such advertising is interesting, it can make you laugh and if nobody insults anyone in it, it is also harmless and harmless. That is why, with a smile on my face, I was watching new spots on OnePlus.

OnePlus is a Chinese brand. Brand with ambitions. She once tried to conquer the smartphone market by calling her devices the assassins of flagships. OnePlus smartphones were supposed to be cheaper, and thus much more affordable. However, they were not expected to significantly diverge from competitors in terms of technical specifications and capabilities.

And it basically succeeded. I say this as a former user of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. These are great smartphones, which in many ways can shame the devices from the top shelf from Samsung, LG, or Huaweia. Now, OnePlus decided to prove it in advertising video materials.

The comparison shows that the new OnePlus is faster than the latest Galaxy Note. This does not surprise me, but customers who did not have the 5T model in their hands can be shocked that the cheaper phone runs twice faster than the best Samsung.

The Korean giant has had many commercials in which he stuck a pin on Apple, iPhones and customers who chose products with the logo of a bitten apple.

I remember very well the "Wall Huggers" spot , which promoted the new Samsung Galaxy S5 and ridiculed iPhones for the fact that they do not have an interchangeable battery, they are deprived of energy saving mode.

Today, this ad is no longer valid. First of all, iPhones have grown significantly, and thus have much larger links. Secondly, the Galaxy S5 was the last flagship Samsung in which the user could exchange the battery.

Already after one year, during the premiere of S6, it turned out that Samsung decided to follow the path delineated by Apple. The one he used to make fun of until recently.

Koreans did not stop comparisons with the Americans. Not to look a few months ago, at the premiere of the new Galaxy Note, a spot was published in which Apple smartphone users are presented as mature . The main character of the advertisement was once a loyal user of iPhones, but over time he noticed all the flaws and decided to switch to the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

A comparison to the competition of the weaker domain?

Apple also used to regularly practice comparative advertising. In the iconic series Mac vs. PC, Apple showed the differences between Macs and machines with Windows. The role of a Mac was played by a young, relaxed boy, while Windows was symbolized by a clumsy guy in a suit. These ads were incredibly popular and they still function in the awareness of many customers.

Apple, however, withdrew from continuing the project. In my opinion, it was a good decision. Continuous attempts to compare yourself with competitors do not look good. Some may consider this to be a symptom of some complexes or the need to appreciate - in accordance with the principle that a good product will defend itself.
