The one thing is the best approach to getting what you want. It enable us to focus on one thing that we actually want to achieve instead of thinking about other fascinated things happening around.
What’s the ONE Thing you can do this week?
Such that by doing it everything , else would be easier or unnecessary? We need to have a deep thought on this and conclude what exactly that "one thing" is, where I will have huge success and that "one things" is the one that I am actually looking forward to achieve. To do this, we need to cut down noises and have to narrow down my concentration to one thing.
How can we achieve this?
Going Small is the key– The people who gets to the heart of the things and the heart of the approach are the the most productive and the successful people. They achieve more, earn more, do more because they go small. These people just focus on a set of activities for a given period of time and achieve those small goals and once these are completed, again they have another set of small goals to work on.
Going small is also ignoring all the things you could do and doing what you should do. Many a times, a new boom in the market attracts us and we distract from our actual goals. Then people start experimenting new things along with the previous goals and at the end, they don't achieve the desired outcome from any of the new and old tasks/goals.
Going small is actually recognizing that not all things matter equally and finding the things that matter most. It’s a tighter way to connect what you do with what you want. If one wants to achieve something, it can only be achieved by narrowing down your focus to small things, achieve small goals regularly and these small goals cumulatively will achieve us the bigger goal.
One must focus on fewer things for more effect instead of focusing on more things with side effects. Sometimes picking many things at a time works, but you achieve by adding more to your work and your life. If you don't cut these things, it will lead to missed deadlines, diappointing results, bad sleep, high stress and lot more other side effects which burns ot a person in a long run.
Going small is a real simple approach which produces extraordinary results. It works all the time, anywhere and on anything.
Why does it work every-time? Because it has only one purpose which is the ultimate goal a person is looking for. By following this approach you make a discipline to cut down noises, so your focus is only onething.
What if a person has a big goal ?
- First of all we need to set a deadline, by when you actually want to achieve that goal. Example: It's GoalA
- Divide that one big goal into smaller chunks and decide individual goal's deadline, like GoalA-1 needs to be achieved in 1st month, GoalA-x needs be achieved at the end of 6th month.
- Take first goal and subdivide that into weeks work.
- Then into days work or even in smaller chunks
- Now try working to achieve smaller parts.
By achieving these small goals in time, your big goal will also get achieved.
