A US university student has defended a “graduation photo” that shows her posing with a concealed handgun.
University of Tennessee student Brenna Spencer posed in front of a bridge wearing a pink t-shirt bearing the slogan "Women for Trump", which she lifted to show a handgun tucked into her waistband.
"I don't take normal college graduation photos", the caption read.
The tweet exploded online in the volatile US political climate, drawing both positive and negative responses.
She was praised by some for knowing her Second Amendment rights, but also roundly condemned.
Ms Spencer told ABC News US that she had just wanted to show who she was "as a person".
She said she was surprised by the public reaction.
