Optipessimist Contest Submission [Rising Tensions Everywhere & Nowhere]

This post is a contest entry for https://steemit.com/contest/@thelastsage/pessimist-or-optimist-where-does-your-future-lie-contest-30-sbd-payout by @thelastsage, mainly because I cashed out my SP and am broke.

With rising world tensions being created by North Korea, United States, Russia, China etc.; do you feel that we may see conflict or do I dare say it, maybe even war?

Despite the so-called 'rising tensions' - and I use the term so-called loosely as we are presented with said concept of rising tensions by the media, which we know is as worthless as ever - I am certain we will not see a conflict or war. This is for several reasons, the first being the fact that we are already at war.

We, as Americans and the Western world in general, can't fight a war on this many fronts. We are currently at war in the Middle East for no good reason but there we are, stuck in the muck of it. We are currently at war with Islamic Terrorists for another no good reason, mainly because on the flipside a bunch of Iraqi generals and other opportunists, feeding off the greed of a group of benefactors who will remain nameless for the purposes of this post, decided that terrorism is a great money-maker. We are currently at war domestically - you can call it a type of civil war - with gangs of local hooligans sponsored by the same nameless benefactors. Basically, we are at war with a lot of people manipulated to be at war with us in order to make someone else even richer.

To engage in yet another war with nations that have an insane amount of manpower, technology and money would be disastrous. It's also not very profitable. No one will sponsor a war with China as it will cut off the supply chain to pretty much everything anyone requires. Russia may be a popular enemy but they're not that good at losing wars and the Middle East is too destroyed to be a poor choice for a proxy battlefield. The right kind of war involves an enemy who is good at losing, like the Germans. That's how you win.

North Korea is a another popular threat without being a threat at all. Kim Jung Un is like that snotty kid in science class; he can talk all he wants but can't deliver a punch. And besides, North Korea is next door to South Korea and a bunch of useful things come from South Korea. No one will sponsor to destabilise a region that manufactures useful microwaves and other household appliances. Much like charity golf tournaments, wars have to be sponsored by someone after all. Those bills get pretty hefty.

For the above-stated reasons I remain optimistic that despite the popularity of reporting on 'rising world tensions', no tensions actually exist, will arise, or will materialise in physical forms between the US, North Korea, China, Russia or the like. Everyone is busy blowing their money on the Christian vs Muslim hysteria and sponsoring whichever side of it they feel suits them best to invest in a new war.
