Oracle and Otto Beisheim School of Management have released the outcomes of company efficiency-related studies and how to enhance it by adopting technological alternatives. The study was carried out by providing 850 HR managers with a questionnaire and 5,600 staff employed in businesses with a minimum of 250 staff, distributed across 23 nations.
Technology is only a means: unless the strategy is altered, the findings will be limited. Technological innovations are essential for improving business processes and can boost the effectiveness of company by two thirds. This, however, only if some important variables accompany the transformation that enable it to express itself at its finest. The study recognized 7, defining them-somewhat pompously-" the splendid 7: "data-driven decision-making processes; flexibility and ability to accept change; entrepreneurial culture; shared digital vision; ability to think and question critically; learning-oriented culture; open and collaborative communication procedures.
Continuing with change has never been as crucial as it is today '-said Wilhelm Frost, Department of Industrial Organization and Microeconomics at WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management-' Adaptability and agility are highly crucial for businesses that want to remain competitive and give winning market proposals.
The issue is that this does not always occur and the needed change of mentality is not too often accompanied by technological change. Only 10 percent of HR managers are confident of the successful integration of information into the systems by the business they work for, while 44 percent think this is ignored.
Also highlighted is the issue of internal communication, which operates properly for 37 percent of the staff interviewed, while for the remainder is still attached to the notion of "silo" of distinct organizations that do not exchange the data in their ownership effectively.
"This research shows the chance that human resources can seize today to guide the conversion of the workforce and to do so in such a manner that the productivity benefits of the technology are realized,"-commented Joachim Skura, Strategy Director for Oracle HCM Applications-" Too many organisations are adopting systems without properly incorporating them.
