For you, Steemit Valentine

Hearts. Who knew there were so many ways to fold 'em?
These were some of the most difficult models I've made. Partly because of vague/unclear directions, partly from low origami XP. The most important thing is I did not give up and I folded all of them.

Nice one! Do know how to make a Swan? I always wanted to learn. It's so much fun to do these right? Just paper nothing else :')

I can make a swan. I'll dedicate it to you. ☺

Origami can be as simple or difficult as we make it, that's part of its charm. Thank you for commenting!

Hey thats so sweet! thank you :D looking forward to your next post

It's coming...soon!

These came out lovley but they do look like they'd be quite frustrating to make.

Some of them were definitely frustrating! I still had a lot of fun making them, thanks for having a look.

Your hearts have wings!

Make sure you fly after them. Cardiovascular health demands it!

Cardio is super important, I agree with you there! I'm not on your level as far as running goes, I do a mile a few times a week. Every day counts though. Thank you for commenting, I appreciate it. ☺

This is very simple to do and also a cute decoration!
I like that you put your original doodle on it ;)
Cool!

I'm crazy about doodling! These were fun to make, thank you for stopping by. ☺

Lovely and so many!! The wings would also look nice with golden paper :D

Hey sorry for misunderstanding!! 5 sbd was from you and 2.5sbd from me to the winner. I'll send you 2.5 from me later probs in an hour, as I'm currently only on the phone

That's a great idea! I have two pieces of metallic paper, and I was saving them for something special. Didn't know quite what, but I do now. They'll look perfect.

Sorry about the mix-up! I think my mind went out of the office for a minute while I was sending the SBD. This was the first time for me to sponsor a contest here, so I learned some stuff.

Thank you again for allowing me to contribute. The community has been really good to me and I'm starting to return the favor. BTW I'm down to sponsor another contest in the future. I'll get in line after tonyr ☺

Sweet, it can be cool as wings for any origami really :D
As for the mix-up I learned as well for next time ^^
I'm extremely thankful to sponsors so I don't want anyone to feel cheated :D Especially as I'm really looking forward to making more contests and you guys are a great help! ^-^

They look beautiful! The first one is my favourite.

Thank you! The first one is really cute, the red and white look perfect together.

Cool! Origami always fascinated me. When I was in elementary school we had a student teacher who was from Japan. She was amazing at origami! She made a little shrimp that blew all our minds as kids lol Best I ever did was figuring out how to fold notes to pass to my high school girlfriend lol

I bet that shrimp was really impressive. It's amazing what a flat sheet of paper can become in the right set of hands. Until very recently, my folding skillz were right there with yours, from passing notes in school. Paper notes, what a novel idea by today's standard ;)

It was impressive, the tail even articulated! I hated those few teachers who would read notes out loud to the class if you were caught passing notes lol

Thankfully I never had one of those teachers. What a mortifying thought!

Those are really cool. I really like the Pegasus heart's. They DO look difficult, especially if the directions are a real dodo.

Do you ever get 'folder's cramps'? Seems that would be a problem, with the smaller, very intricate ones. Then again, maybe I'm just out of shape in this realm of art and things.
Wondering too, do you hang your Origami's about the house? Seems that would be a good thing to do. I have a friend that makes Cranes and hangs them in her booth when she sells here homemade beads. They really add a lot to the display. Well, I've vociferously digi-trammeled on here longer than the average bear...so, hope you have a nice day.

To answer your question about folders cramps, no not yet! So far I've found I either get frustrated and figure out my own way to the end (quickly) OR I sail through without much trouble and come to the finished model in a short amount of time. If I were making a lot of models at once, like for a cool bread booth display, I might run into some discomfort.

And for the display, I actually throw them all into a cardboard box on a shelf. Once I finish folding all of the sheets that came in the assorted pack of 55 I'm going to assemble them together to make a really spectacular diorama. It's going to be sweet! I'm looking forward to it like Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by to comment! Take care.

I Love origami <3 this is so cute!

Thanks! What's your favorite origami model to make?

Progress, progress, progresss. Resurrecting the octopus got you in the right vibe, that was also such a beauty. These wings are really tight, I personally like the second one a bit more, especially because of those wings!

Ah, thank you so much! The wings are a really nice touch, I agree. This origami journey really does feel like a journey, I still have a way to go before I get to the next level.

Speaking of next level, jschindler and I listened to your rap contest entry this morning, your hard work is paying off! If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer not to enter contests?? You've got the skillz to compete in more than one arena.

No problem at all, I always like to see how new discoveries unravel themselves, and how it affects your artistry.

As for that contest thing, I guess it's more because everyone is in there for themselves only. Especially with a lot of online contests, there is this weird vibe around it that turns me off. Although I must admit, with a contest like this one, it tends to make me a bit more hungry and try to get my skill out there. Who knows, maybe I'll try those some more.

I appreciate both of you for listening, I'm glad to hear that you can hear some progress in it! :)

Ahh they're all so cute! Have to say the pink one with the corrugated wings is my favourite. Which ones did you find easiest and hardest?

goatsig

The origami bookmark was the most challenging. I understood kind of how it was supposed to work, but I got totally lost with the directions and adjusted the end to my own version.

The pink heart with wings was pretty straightforward and it turned out the best IMO.

Thank you for looking!
