Since I lived in a rural area somewhere in Ilocos Norte Philippines, you can see a banana tree around our barangay. This two dishes was actually our entry during the cookfest in our church and the main ingredient is banana bud or puso ng saging in our mother tongue which is Tagalog.
First is the GINATAANG PUSO NG SAGING. In this dish, one of the ingredients are coconut milk. The procedure was exactly the same with usual Ginataan but the only difference is banana bud is the main ingredient.
Second is the BANANA HEART LUMPIA. Instead of vegetables, the ingredient is banana bud.
This two dishes was actually the idea of my mother and her friends, they brainstormed on what dishes that suited the banana bud and they came up with this two as well as the names.

The ginataang puso ng saging? I don’t know the english term of ginataan but that dish has an coconut milk . They first cooked the banana bud then they add the coconut milk. It’s my mom and her friends idea😁 . There are some ginataan recipes in the internet. 😁

Oh my grabe.. Never tried the Banana heart lumpia. Pwede pala siyang gawin. Somehow this is a family recipe pala.
I do know banana heart burger patty lang.

But the ginataang puso ng saging heaven! Tapos you will include either tinapa or tabagwang ( susong pilipit). Sorop nito grabe.

Thanks for participating. Post upvoted and resteemed din po :)

Thank you po☺️ Try niyo pong gawin yung lumpia.

Favorite ko din ang puso ng saging but I never tried the lumpia. This is added to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing!
