Using steemit for direct P2P exchange

Reputations are built here on Steemit.
Private keys are required to post any content.
This would allow for steem to be used as an excellent type of direct P2P exchange, and up ramps the less tech savvy point of access.

So why not?

    just did a
    .edit test 1 week

    FAIL cuz you can not edit after X time
    (not sure of details just yet)

    THUS steemit can be utilized to record immutable statements ;)
