The third span of Padma Bridge has been installed on the pillars. Today, at around 9:30 am on Sunday, the engineers and workers set up the span 39 and 40 with the help of the crane. Three spans of the bridge were installed. Adding three spans of 150 meters, 450 meters of Padma bridge is visible on the edge of Jazira.
Yesterday, the span arrived on the outskirts of Jazira on Saturday. Starting from today morning the work of span 39 and 40 is started. The welding work is being done to connect the new span with the second span after setting the poles at nine in the morning.
An engineer unwilling to reveal the name of Padma bridge project said that the span was brought to the edge of Jazira with floating crane. Yesterday afternoon the span reached the pole. Today, at 9:30 in the morning, the span is taken with the help of a floating crane. The span has been successfully placed in the poles.
Padma bridge will be built with 41 spans. Last year in October and early January 28, 300 meters of the Padma bridge was visible by installing a second span on the Jazira edge.
A floating crane with a weight of about 3,000 tons and a 150 meter long span left Mawa from Junk to Jodhpur on Friday. Yesterday afternoon, Jajira reaching the number 39 and 40 of the pillar.
Engineers and laborers employing span operators run the span from afternoon till evening.
Earlier, the number 37 and 38 were placed in the first and 38th and 39th pillars respectively. Positions of 37, 38, 39 and 40 pillars are located in the south bank area of Padma river in Naodoba area of Jajira upazila of Shariatpur.
It is seen in Nodoba, on the Jajira side of the Padma Bridge, that the span was kept anchored between the numbers 39 and 40. Engineers and workers started the span from six in the morning. Hundreds of people rush to Nadoda, on the banks of the river Padma, to see the spinning up span. The excitement was noticed among them.
Liaquat Hossain of Moksudpur village under Gopalganj, said, "Yesterday I got a span to be installed today. So in the morning the Padma bridge project has moved to the project area. It looks like the bridge is visible in your own eyes. '
One engineer of the Padma bridge project said that the welding work was going on after the span was installed. It will take hours for welding. The third span will be fitted with the second span placed before the welding.
