Once there was a time when time ran not
When all was a silent chaos
An eternal chasm of potential
And in that chasm stirred a thought, a feeling, or just a sudden urge
And from that single momentous urge
The first moment arose
To one side darkness that none could see
Save the light upon the other side
Like a cell the darkness and the light divided
From the darkness emerged Nyx
Who open wide her wings as if to fly
And space was made to mingle with the moment
When from the light also came Hemera
Whose wings were golden and shimmered like fire
The Darkness and the Light
Erebus and Aether
Mingled in the swirl of their being
And from them arose an urge, an impulse, a force, a sudden longing
Eros of the glorious light who drew things together
As gravity is wont to do
In the great chasm, where a stirring brought light and darkness, day and night
And the infinite power of love, space and time were mingled
And in their energies a new life was born
Strong and full of stilled power
Bending the very fabric of existence as it moved
A great and powerful being was born
Gaea the foundation and mother of us all
