Right about now there's a huge fight all over the media on the semantics of it all. The notion that we must define concentration camps, or that using the term is offensive, is everything you read about. Truth is that nobody seems to agree, but they are literally missing the forest for the trees.
I don't know, maybe I'm being insensitive about the matter, but I find it completely futile to argue about the sanctity if you will, of the term. The whole notion that if we use the words concentration camps we are insulting jewish survivors is not without merit, but what's more important I ask? Should we focus on doing something about the border, or should we argue about what words we are not allowed to use.
I'm being sincere here, because it seems obvious to me that the problem is getting worse. And, what is even more concerning to me, is that our politicians are using the border crisis as a game of political football. It really grinds me gears to see all the grandstanding happening, meanwhile we are dealing with more and more children at the border.
A recent video went viral, and it really outlines the conditions of these camps. Regardless of what side you lean on, you can't sit on the fence on this one. There is no way to justify kids not having any way to clean themselves or a blanket to sleep with. Sleep deprivation is literal torture, and under federal law crossing the border is a misdemeanor.
It would be the equivalent of torturing someone for stealing food. Now, I know what some will say: A crime is a crime, yes I get that, but justice, if that is the thing we should aim for, is supposed to go hand in hand with fairness and morality.

Countries don't exist. Borders are imaginary; and every single individual is morally and ethically responsible for everything they do.

It’s hard for people to understand that abstractions are not actually things.

Excellent review @meno and I never liked these camps, because people in them are treated like cattle!

It is evil, pure and simple.
My grandfather fought against this in WWII and he is probably turning in his grave.
They are concentration camps.
They may not be Death Camps, but how long until the line is crossed.
