Normalizing Pedophilia?
I literally have to take a deep breath and think about this before I write, and I can't promise It won't end in insults, because it very much can. But what seems to be happening is that we, and when I say we I mean society(me excluded), are attempting to understand humans who are sexually attracted to children. In this quest, we are beginning to open up the conversation and address it as an illness and not so much a crime exclusively.
Ok, with great effort, I can concede that the people who are attracted to children are sick, but I do think we need to draw a very solid line in the sand here. You see, to call it a sexual preference as if it's equivalent to being attracted to a possible mate, is too much of a stretch for me.
If we are going to walk down this path, then we should say that bestiality is also just a sexual preference, or necrophilia (sex with corpses) for that matter. I'm sorry, but these are aberrant behaviors, and they completely fall outside any umbrella of morality.

Again, I'm trying to be cool headed here, so I have to concede that studying this is probably a good thing. If for nothing else but to find a treatment for those who are demented. Yes, I will call a so call MAP an insane person without hesitation.
That being said, I'm 100 percent against the normalization of pedophilia. There is absolutely no way we can talk about this, as if we would be talking about queer people. It's not the same, not by a long shot.
But, what's most important here, at least in my personal opinion is for everyone to be aware of this attempt of relabeling. Know what MAP stands for Minor Attracted Person, and be vigilant of this disgusting bullshit.

Back when John Walsh was 22 years old, he was dating a 16-year-old girl (his current wife), which might cause some people to label him as an ephebophile. Therefore, some people may go as far as calling Corey Feldman and John Walsh M.A.P.'s. Does it make them pedophiles? Of course, it doesn't. Self-proclaimed child advocates would scream from the top of their lungs if anyone were ever to accuse Corey Feldman of being pedophile. They worship him for his reputation of waging a war in Hollywood against powerful people who pull rank with actors and actresses, both young and old, in the form of sexual harassment and sexual abuse. John Walsh is the co-founder of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and he hates pedophiles probably more than anyone in the entire world because of what happened to his 6-year-old son Adam back in 1981. Therefore, there is no way that John Walsh could ever be mistaken for a pedophile even by the far reaches of the imagination. Hebephilia and ephebophilia are subsets of chronoastiphilia alongside teleiophilia and have nothing to do with pedophilia, because the American Psychiatric Association has never reclassified either one of them as psychiatric disorders. What pedophiles are trying to do in pushing the term "M.A.P." down everyone's throat is they're attempting to water down their actions by claiming that they are no different from a 25-year-old man who falls in love with a 20-year-old woman in a nation where the age of majority is 21, making that 20-year-old woman A MINOR. It's almost like a psyop they are trying to create.

Before I do that my views on this are as follows: there's a difference between being a pedophile and a pedosexual (child abuser), where the first group has a preference to having sex with kids (often something you're born with unfortunately), and the second also actually does the deed (there's no excuse).
I really want the second group to be punished hard and the first group to get therapy so they never become the second group. There's no way we can 'heal' a pedophile but we can teach people how to constrain themselves. (Most of them are disgusted with themselves too.)
Since I never think in black and white I hope we can all at least try to understand this difference - and even feel compassion for the pedophile that feels disgusted with him/herself for feel attracted to something they know they can't ever get - and even don't WANT to get because it's so wrong.
Where it's the same as being queer: it's a sexual preference which can't be helped and you're born with and can't unlearn. Where it's also-fucking-lutely not the same: it will never be acceptable to have sex with a kid, can't even call it sex as there is no legal consent so basically it's always rape. So no pedo pride in the future.
In the meanwhile it's legal in many US states and other countries to get married as an underaged kid - no booze before 21 years old, acting like smoking cannabis is the worst crime in the world, but marry our kids into pedosexual marriages? Yeah, why not.

It is true that it is legal for people to marry as young as their early-to-mid teens in certain state jurisdictions of the United States of America. My great aunt got married at 15 years old to a 24-year-old man so many years ago. Now, would I call their marriage "pedosexual"? Not at all. They were married for a long, long time and happily so. Also, my great uncle would not have qualified even to be a pedophile per its definition in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition ("DSM-5"), so he never could have been a pedosexual, not even by the far reaches of the imagination. When a man in his eighties marries an 8-year-old girl in the Middle East, then that is a pedosexual marriage. However, to the best of my knowledge, there is no state jurisdiction in the United States of America where it is legal for an 8-year-old girl to get married as there should never be one. In other words, there is a very big difference between a Loretta-Lynn-style marriage and a pedosexual marriage.

It does go back throughout history. Age of consent is only a recent thing and if you look back at most countries it was normal to have girls married off at 13 or 14. Still is in some communities. It's horrible to think how it used to be when there were no protections for the children who should never have been put in that kind of position.
People can be wired differently and it's hard to understand those who have this kind of mindset but at least if the subject is talked about it can be recognized and prevented. It's better to have the discussion rather than just saying how wrong it is keeping them hidden where anything can happen.

I do believe that it is wrong if a young girl is forced into an unwanted marriage, but I also believe that it is wrong for anyone of any age to be forced into an unwanted marriage. Anyhow, my point is that teenage girls have been to known to get married either to boys their own age or to someone slightly or perhaps noticeably older than them. Country singer Loretta Lynn got married at 13 years old to a 21-year-old man named Oliver Vanetta "Doolittle" Lynn, and they lived happily ever after. That is something that is not to be equated to some lunatic grabbing a toddler off of a playground and committing unspeakable acts against him or her afterwards.
