Each week the GMs of the MMO, PlaneShift, have a GMed Event which offers Role Play as well as rewards to Player Characters.
The GMs did not only out do themselves in last week's GM Event on PlaneShift but offered an opportunity to explore much of the game world with you, my readers, from high above the madding crowd.
The event had a similar theme of going on an adventure in search of glyphs which had been part of previous events. Glyphs are saught after items used in the magic system of the game world.
Our old friendly NPC, Radavan, appeared in the local tavern looking for additions to fill out his party for the adventure.
He received no shortage of volunteers!
Radavan wanted to push the envelope this time... going where no Glyph Hunter had gone before. To do so he required technology that no one had used before to reach up into the the ceiling of The Dome itself and mine the hanging rock stalactite of glyphs.
He summoned the party to the roof of the tavern where his surprise was awaiting....
A balloon!!!!
With a mixture of magic and fire the balloon was filled with air and it began to rise....
Up and up it soared, with the capital city of Hydlaa displayed majestically below...
High enough that those still on the roof of the tavern looked the size of insects below...
Then catching a breeze they began to sail away floating over Hydlaa's great plaza...
They caught a breeze heading in a westerly direction towards one of the other great cities of The Dome, Gugrontid, which itself rises a great height into the air.
Yet Radavan was not after the heights of Gugrontid but the dizzying heights of the stalactites above it.
It was there that glyphs were found buried in the mighty stalactites.
Although there were no shortage of glyphs to go around, the winds were in the party's favor and they waved goodbye to Gugrontid far below and caught an easterly breeze...
The wind carried them east over Hydlaa and further east over the Oja road which lay far below. They again found a stalactite with a bounty of glyphs embedded in it.
The wind was, again, favorable this time taking the party over a scenic tour of a third city of The Dome called Ojaveda.
Returning on a westerly breeze back toward Hydlaa there was one more stop up Radavan's sleeve. A large stalactite just east of the river between Hydlaa and Ojaveda.
It was made all the more special a stop with Radavan's idea to place a book with a list of names of those in the party at the height of this special place. They would be forever bound in this adventure both in spirit and physically by this monument.
With a little magical help the balloon was soon hovering over the Kada Tavern again...
Radavan brought it down for a smooth landing.
This adventure would long be spoken about in that same tavern which it had been launched!
