AHOY!

Tis Post-Play Games here! We are going to immediately drop the pirate-speak, and jump straight into talking about our "revival", and what that means for us, our games, our platform, you, your experiences, and your never-ending thirst to play choose your own adventure games!

So, where were we?

Well, I mean, kinda sorta. Dead to the internet, at least!

But, while being dead, we multi-tasked!
During our hiatus, we were prototyping, thinking, mocking up, and designing what we want to become.

For instance... What will our games be?

This might sound obvious, but kinda sorta isn't!

Sure, we make RPG / adventure games but-- What, exactly, are our games & how, exactly, do we want them to play?

This is a surprisingly difficult question for us!

Turns out trying to "modernize" & "revolutionize" a long-established medium can be... rather challenging 乁(ツ)ㄏ

BUT! While we may not have a 100% set answer, we have settled on a constant enough formula where we feel confident moving forward to the next step.

Which is...

GAMES! LOTS-O-GAMES!

So far, our shiny flagship title is One Year RPG. We knew that we couldn't declare this a comeback if we didn't start off with bringing back OYRPG first.

So we did.
You're welcome. No, wait, we're welcome... Er, what I mean to say is: THANK YOU!

One Year RPG is so much fun to manage, and we are blown away that on the first post coming back, without using any hashtags for discoverability, we got 16 votes!

This is quite surprising considering just how little marketing we do (hint: ZERO)

MORE GAMES!

We currently have 2 additional stories in the works, one at roughly 75% completion, the other hovering around 50%.
(p.s. when we talk about "completion", what we mean is we want to think through enough of the "macro-storyline" to make sure we can tell an exciting & compelling story, but we never write out the full plot because we believe improv is a very important ingredient)

If everything stays on track, we think the first of these games will launch near the end of this year / early beginning of next year.

"Woah, what? That far away? Why?"
Because... We have something to do in the meantime...

"Ok... So? TELL US!"
Aight, chill. Next big news:

WE'RE MAKING AN APP

That's right. We wanna go big into the text adventure genre, and we're building out a platform to do so.

Fun stuff, fun stuff!

We think that we should wrap this up now & just end with a few quick notes.

1] this is happening, we are currently working on building out our mobile app, after which we'll begin releasing new campaigns & games

2] these new games will expand into many genres. Not just fantasy / medieval stuff, we also got ideas for #steampunk-storylines, #cyberpunk-cities, and even a #murdermystery-megagame!

3] our mobile app will be the perfect home for not just our games, but community ones as well!

4] our main games will be FREE. FREE. FREE!

4b] we plan to monetize by selling stand-alone campaign games.

Basically, the collaborative storylines that update daily / weekly, will always be free.

But, we will have stand-alone, solo text-adventures that you can buy to support us

5] When? Great question.

Shitty answer? No idea.

We want to release as soon as possible, of course, but we refuse to post a deadline. We want to publish quality content and will work as long as needed to achieve that.
